I have plugged a lot of disks on my computer. And when I boot in Mac OS X, so many icons would shown in my desktop. But in fact, most of them wont be used. I only wanna auto-mount one of the partitions of one disk. Could you tell me how to do? thx!

Edit the file "/etc/fstab" using sudo and your favorite command line editor.

Add the following line for each volume you don't want mounted:

LABEL=<label> none msdos ro,noauto

where "<label>" is the name of the volume.

Also if you are just annoyed of them being shown on desktop, go to Finder > Preferences > General and deselect the Hard disks from the Show these items on the desktop section, but note that your internal HD will disappear from your desktop and all of them will be accessible through the Finder Sidebar and also in Finder > Preferences > Sidebar you can choose if you want your internal and/or external disks to be visible their
