iPhone (4) Voice Memos not Syncing to New iTunes 10.0

I'm currently on an iPhone 4 (4.0.1 firmware) and I've been experiencing issues getting my voice memos to sync to my iTunes library.

The last time this worked was August 27, 2010 which added 3 voice memos to my iTunes library successfully. Since then, I have not yet updated my firmware but have installed the new iTunes 10.0. I have 8 new voice memo recordings on my phone since the last successful sync, and I've tried syncing my phone four times today, Sept. 4, (restarting iTunes and my iPhone) with no luck. I tried recording a new voice memo to see if iTunes 10 would recognize any memos recorded after the installation but that failed as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Inspiron 6400, Windows 7, iTunes 10.0

It just worked, 10pm today (9/6/10). I have no idea why though.

It's the same for me!
It syncs just one memo or two on the 30-40 i have on my iphone 4 16gb
I hope apple will solve this problem

same problem. i have five voice memos on my iphone that won't sync with iTunes. i've tried three times, and keep trying, but they won't sync.

it is now working for me. this is what i did; connect the iPhone to iTunes, go to "Devices", select your iPhone, go to the "Music" tab, and check "Include voice memos". i never saw that option before iTunes 10.

alternatively, i'm having an issue with where the voice memos are being stored in my iTunes library on my hard drive. they are now being saved in iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Unknown Artist/Unknown Album. before they were being synced to iTunes/iTunes Media/Voice Memos. strange....

Yes, ever since I downloaded Itunes 10 the voice memos I have made on my phone are not syncing back onto my mac. I am anxiously awaiting how to fix this because I have things I want to put on my website/ send to clients. Any help would be great!

This is not an iTunes 10 problem but it might be an iOS 4 issue. It's not working for me and I have iOS 4.0.1 with iTunes 9.2.1 (5). I have the "Include Voice memos" option checked and it still doesn't work.

Yes, I think it is definitely an OS 4 problem, not itunes. Within a day of downloading it several things went wrong including the microphone issue (also some of my photos now show up as black in preview mode, and after getting the most recent OS 4 update, my camera does not work).

hmmm. the solution seemed to work for me. i just did a sync a few minutes ago of several new voice memos. again, i'm running OS X 10.6.4, Itunes 10, and iPhone OS 4.1 (8B117).

the voice memos aren't showing up in iTunes? in the Voice Memos playlist? did you look in your iTunes/iTunes Media/Music folder to see if they are being copied there? for some reason, my voice memos are being copied to that location into a folder called Unknown Artist, and in that is Unknown Album, and in that are the voice memos. they should be copying to iTunes/iTunes Media/Voice Memos.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried checking and unchecking the box, looking in my media folder, but it only has voice memos dating back from June. I'm not sure if this stopped happening with iOS 4.1 or iTunes 10.

I've always had the "Include Voice Memos" option selected. I think that only pertains to syncing voice memos from iTunes to the iPhone after it has been copied to iTunes. It has to be the new OS/iTunes not communicating that new memos have been recorded. For some reason they won't sync when I want them to, and then a few syncs later they magically appear.

By the way, I'm VERY comfortable with the iTunes and iPhone systems. I've been using iTunes for 5 years, and I've been recording class lectures with the iPhone voice memo app (and another app) for a couple years. It's not an error of not seeing that the memos were added; they don't exist in my library or music folders.

JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY, POST WHICH FIRMWARE YOU ARE RUNNING EXACTLY!!!

I'm on an iPhone 4, running firmware 4.0.1

I have a possible solution. I have tried it out on my Mac and it seems to have worked.

In iTunes 10 :

File -> Library -> Organize Library

Run that, and see if it works. I don't know if it will work for anyone else, but my iPhone 4 wasn't synching before I did this, and it is now. Nothing else changed in the last 24 hours.

what does "Organize Library" actually do? i organize my iTune/iTunes Music/Music folder in my own way....i have "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" unchecked. if i "Organize Library", does it literally change the way my music in that folder is organized? i know that checking "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" makes a mess of my music folder as it tries to organize by artist and such.

I had same problem: my voice memos not appearing in iTunes. I rebooted mac and phone and then the memos appeared in Devices: iPhone, Voice memos. Worth a try.
