iPod touch 4G in stores?

I watched the event with Steve jobs and there was a glaring omission on his part, what day can I go to a Apple store and buy the new iPod touch? anyone know?

Mac Mini Duo Core 2GB Ram 500GB HD, Mac OS X (10.6), Windows 7RC

I ordered one from Apple which is expected to be delivered between September 13th - 16th. That would make the arrival in stores around the same time.

I ordered my engraved 64Gb Wednesday night after work and got an estimated delivery date of September 10-14th.

I would expect Apple retail stores to have them on the 8th or sooner...

It will be interesting to see if these stores get them by Friday Sept 10 as that is the day that all the original orders are due to be delivered.

I wonder how many of these bad boys Apple will sell over that weekend period if they in fact do arrive at stores.

I ordered one from the Apple store.
Leaving on a cruise on the 11th.
Asked for next day delivery and the order shows a date of the 10th.

It seems like they will be out on the 10th but this is the first time I can think of were jobs did not give a specific date, very unusual could this be a sign of production problems

I can't remember Jobs ever giving a firm date on iPod availability. I pre-ordered the first gen Touch in '07, it was the same...

For what it's worth, I just received notification that my Apple Store-ordered iPod touch has shipped with expected delivery by Friday, September 10.
