Magic Trackpad + Click 'n Drag = Frustration

I am liking my new Magic Trackpad except for Click and Drag. I can't get it to do this in any reliable, repeatable fashion. Suggestions appreciated.

It takes some getting used to, but then it works fine. It's a quick, light double tap before dragging. All just a light touch, because I have Tap to Click enabled. If you are dragging a window, and don't pause long enough after the drag, you may still be "attached." A slight pause, or another tap releases the window. For drag & drop, it's the same, but you just tap to drop.

Gary,

Thanks. That works except for one thing. Is there a way to adjust the pause before you are able to start dragging? In other words, I double click to select and highlight some text (e.g., in Pages) and then press down on the track pad so that I hear a click. If I try to drag right away it doesn't work. If I hold the track pad down after a one or two second pause I am able to drag. It is that pause that is clumsy and slows editing. Do you know if there is any way to adjust that pause?

Thanks again,

Jim
