2010 Mac Mini RAM Upgrade "Number of Sticks"

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if I could replace my 2 x 1GB sticks that came with my mac mini with 1 4GB stick.
If so which slot do I use the Bottom or Top to install the single stick.
I wanted to buy 4 GB stick now and hoping to buy another 4 GB stick when the budget allows.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Your Mini does not require matched pairs, so you could just replace one of the 1GB sticks with the 4GB for a total of 5GB. A note of caution regarding purchasing Ram for your Mini, do not go cheap. I suggest you look at these vendors for quality Ram: OWC - http://www.macsales.com/ and Crucial -
