Question

Using hot keys for paragraph styles in Pages '09

I want to use 'hot keys' to apply paragraph styles. Strangely, only the F1 through F8 key can be used. But, those keys are already assigned by OSX to control brightness, exposé, dashboard, volume, etc.
Anyone who can help me out to get the 'hot key' action working?

iMac 2.93 Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 4G ram

Go to

+Finder > Menu > Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard > Check > Use all F1, F2, etc keys as standard function keys+

You will find this now awkward, as you need to use the fn key to get their functions. Just goes to show what a dumb idea it was use the very limited number of function keys for style shortcuts.

I don't have a fn key on my extended keyboard. Does this mean that I can't control iTunes and brightness anymore by using my keyboard?

Oops, I never noticed the fn key above the delete key... Problem solved!
