Q: Transferring music from ipod classic to new computer

Hi, can anyone help?
My last computer became corrupted and unusable and I am left only with my ipod of music, which I would like to transfer to a new computer, however, it will not synch with the new one as it is says my ipod is already synched with another computer (my old one!). I have contacted apple and they have sent me information, but you need to make adjustments on the old computer (which no longer exists)to transfer the files. Is there a way of transferring the music from the ipod to my new computer, without using my old computer?
Thanks...

Sure...you just go into My Computer. Go into iPod. Highlight the Music. Cut. Paste. onto the new iPod.
    Done.

I saw everybody's complaints that there was no real help from APPLE or any individuals, so I purchased "TouchCopy 09" software for $25. It works great and for me it was a small price to pay, to back up and save 6,000 songs that I painstakingly transferred from my CDs.

I too, along with everyone else that had written, are dealing with a new PC not recognizing my iPod classic and it's 1,600 music files. I'm trying to load from iPod to iTunes but the two are not syncing at all.

And...the new music files (40) on the new PC won't sync to my Ipod..Ughhhh !

My emial address is posted on my profile, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you

From the previous discussions it seems you have to change the setting on your old computer before logging on to the new one in order to sync, but I didn't see how you went about doing that.if anyone can post the exact steps it would be a big help
    Cheers

I have a similar issue. New computer, with no access to previous computer or account. Itunes is sending the new acct access, so I can transfer Itunes purchases, but I need to transfer the rest of the IPOD to the new account also. Can you provide some helpful info?

This discussion certainly seems to have reached a "dead" end -- in more ways than one. If there IS a solution to the: "pc crashed / recover music from iPod to new pc" situation, Apple obviously does not want us to have it as it does not appear in the "discussions". Only more and more frustrated iPod suckers asking the same question over and over appear hear. Thanks a bunch Apple for producing a product that forces users to be dishonest. And you do it all in the name of protecting the "rights" of music artists that we are NOT trying to defraud of ANYTHING -- especially their piddling 99 cents per song.
