Q: Transferring music from ipod classic to new computer

Did you ever get a resolution to this issue? I have the same issue and would appreciate any help you can provide.

I just had to completely wipe my hard drive and upgraded my OS to Windows 7 Ultimate and lost my entire iTunes library. I need to know how to copy everything from my iPod classic 30gig to my new iTunes. Help!

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.

Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.

Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

I'm having exact same problem - old lap top crashed. Ipod is set to automatically sync - can't change it to DISK mode without changing it to manual, but when I plug it into new lap top it wants to start synching before I can get it changed into manual. Don't want to lose all my music. If someone has the answer please HELP - Apple is no help at all.

My music all transferred fine but the problem I am having is with the 8 movies I downloaded from Itunes and paid $9.99 - $19.99 for that I want to transfer from my Ipod to the computer to put on my new Ipod. Can't seem to get it done. Will paying the $25 for the touch 09 thing work for that?

Also lost computer, need to get 250 cds onto new computer. How is it done??

omg omg omg!!!! i just lost all my songs!!!!
my hard drive had errors and i had to reformat so i had to delete all my songs and reinstall itunes. when i reinstalled, my ipod synced to the new itunes which erased all my songs. can anyone help pls???????????????
