Question

My keyboard type by itself

If I leave my onscreen keyboard on, the keys type by themselves.

I have to keep restarting my iPad. Lame.

Help!

Is there a way to calibrate the iPad? If I do the soft reset, will it delete all my apps, music, etc?

I have exactly the same problem, after upgrading to ios 3.2.2 my screen started type by themselves. The resolution is to swipe fingers little harder in a place where it's typing. When I do that it stops typeing by themselve. To prevent selftyping I'm trying to touch the screen little harders. Seems like the screen is too sensitive.

No.

If a soft reset doesn't help, turn the iPad off, and then turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

I have reolved my problem by restore an Ipad from scratch. Go to the iTunes, and connect your Ipad, press the recovery button. When iTunes restore the IPad don't synchronize it with a backup. I configured my Ipad as new one, and then synchronized all music, photos and contacts from begining. Since the morning I have been using the Ipad without any problem.

Is it necessary to restore the iPad from scratch to fix the problem. I have several work related applications loaded and I would rather not have to redo all this. Thank you in advance for your help.

I have restored my iPad today and it has the same problems. It's mainly the space, caps, "x", "c", and "v" buttons being "typed." I am thinking about getting a new iPad, but wondering if that's a waste of time because the same problem might happen on the new one.

I don't know what to give you advice. I had done one more action before reinstalling all applications. I deleted an application which install his keyboard on the IPad.

In my opinion it is. For the begining you can restore from scratch, but using a backup. Next try to delete suspicious application if previously done restore wouldn't help. Last step is restoring without using the backup.

I had this problem a year ago but at some point, when I upgraded the software it went away. Now again, since last week my ipad is typing by itself. It is very annoying. I still haven't found the reason nor the solution. Advice from someone at Apple would be appreciated
