White 13" Macbook (early 2009), is it A1181?

I bought my Macbook in June of 2009, before the Unibody came out. I'm trying to figure out what the reference number for my macbook is, so I can find a case that will fit. Is it "A1181"?

I read somewhere "A1181" referred to a "before october 2009" macbook, but somewhere else I read it used to describe "before october 2008". Is this the right number for my macbook?

Mac model A1181 simply means it's a plastic body MacBook. Model A1181 is used from the earliest MacBooks to the newest. What you need to post is found under the Apple in the upper left corner. select About This Mac>More Info>Model Identifier. Which will be from 1,1 (Early 2006) to 7,1 (Mid 2010).

Has the body shape changed between 2008-2009 (before the unibody)? Like if I get a case that's advertised as fitting "the old white or black 13" MacBook", will it fit mine?

Yes, the case was the same from the early 2006 through the mid 2009 MacBook. The late 2009/mid 2010 polycarbonate case without the Firewire port, and with the combined audio in/out port and the built-in battery won't work.
