At the moment I've been having problems with my speaker dock. Its a Goodmans clock radio and I've always been able to play my music from my touch through it. Yesterday I tried it but now no music comes from the actual speakers. I assumed it might be a bad connector on my touch but it's still charging perfectly by being in the dock so it can't be that. I also tried it on another speaker dock of a different make in case that was a problem but again there's no sound coming through the speakers just throught the actual ipod. Is there any way I could have accidently changed the settings on my ipod or is anyone else getting this problem ?
Just to add. I'm using a iPod Touch 2G which I've had for over a year and it's been upgraded to IOS4 when it was released so I don't know if that's been part of the problem.
I'm having a similar issue with my iPod Touch (4th Generation). I place it on my old Apple dock (bought in 2007) and it can only charge/update. When I connect it to my speaker system through the dock's "Line Out" jack, the iPod plays through its own speakers. Is there anything I can do to correct this? Thank you in advance!
I was having this problem as well and found a suggestion to try resetting the ipod by holding down the power/sleep button for a few moments until you get the red slide bar to power off and reboot. It seems to have worked.
Just to confirm, having experienced the same problem today when trying to play music through my audio system via the docking cradle, a complete loss of sound through the speakers was resolved by hard rebooting the iPod Touch; thanks for the tip!
