Has 4.1 fixed the Proximity Sensor issue for you?

At work, can't download 4.1 yet, but I'm eager to see if the Proximity Sensor issue will be fixed. This is my last straw, if 4.1 doesn't do it, I'm afraid I can't wait any longer. I need a phone..

iPhone 4, iOS 4

That means there were no changes to the base code since the 4.1 gm release last week. I have heard rumors that for many the gm release did not fix the Proximity issue.

It is early, but so far I haven't heard of anyone who said 4.1 fixed the Proximity issue for them.

For those who are slow on the uptake what is the issue with the proximity sensor? I have noticed no issues with mine.

We have three iP4s in our family and none are experiencing the Prox issue, but for those that do it is extremely frustrating. Proximity sensor system seems to fail and activate the keyboard at odd times allowing your face/ear to randomly press 'buttons' resulting in all sorts of weird behavior.

the ps issue was that when you have your phone on your face while calling, the ps didn't detect your face and the screen would still stay on and thus the face would cause to push any buttons such as mute, end call, hold. Thus you may wonder when calling and all of the sudden you can't hear someone on the other line?

Got it. Mine is fine so I guess I should be grateful. Apart from the signal issues my phone works perfectly. I hope this update doesn't screw my phone up.

Well, its early days yet but the proximity sensor seems improved. I have made a few calls with no mutes/speaker on/off issues. Screen goes blank about an inch from my face ( 2.5cm to you Euro types) and comes back on about 2 inches away ( 5cm) Definately improved but time will tell how much.
Now to put it on our 3 x 3g iphones to see if they are fixed

Ditto here Pooleman. Just got it yesterday and seems to be working fine so I am almost frightened to update. Only thing I fancy is the new HDR photography.

I updated a 3GS and ip4 last week using the gm release (I have a developers 'license') and the only problem I experienced was with the battery indicator.

It seems that the battery indicator always gets screwed up with an iOS update. After two complete resets (sleep/wake and home keys until Apple logo appears) it is again acting normally.

The HDR seems to work OK--at least it has in the few test photos I have made.
