Has anyone with a 3G had their install taking greater than 3 hours?

Phone has been showing "Sync in Progress" and iTunes has been showing "Backing up....." for 3 hours now.

Running iTunes 10 and had OS4.0.1 on phone previously.

Should I consider doing a disconnect/reconnect of cable etc?

Had 4.8G of audio and 300M of photos on the phone.

Thanks In Advance

Greetings,

My old 3G took about 20 minutes to complete the update - works great. It wasn't bad before, but it's a bit faster now. I have a new iPhone 4, also updated to 4.1, and it is a dream as well.

I'm keeping my 3G as a spare, incase something were to happen to the new one. I only got the new one for the camera, and Face Time, otherwise the old one works perfectly fine.

Cheers,
M.

4.1 seems no worse than 4.0.x on the 3g. except for the calendar glitch, where, instead of merely blanking for several seconds upon opening in list view, it goes blank and stays blank until one chooses day or month view.

The pause before keyboard appears is now shorter in Messages and Notes, and text entry now keeps up better while typing (not that I'm very fast, so this may be a subjective thing)

Words With Friends doesn't seem to like 4.1. It freezes if the player waits too long before doing anything after opening in the board view

So, while I wouldn't use the term snappy, my 3g seems to be operating a smidge faster than it did under 4.0.x

Installed with no trouble in less than 30 minutes after a previous backup/sync from 4.0whatever. As others have said, it seems slightly peppier, which is enough for me for now. Too many apps have upgraded to 4x, and I love the folders, etc, so I'll hang here until a 4G phone comes into the house.

The camera seems to start slightly faster, the typing delay doesn't appear as long, and no apps have died for no reason (yet.)

Thanks to everyone who is taking the time to post their experiences, profoundly helpful, as always.
