Setting the two Game Center restrictions didn't stop the annoying need to Cancel every time I started a game when I first set it -- but after updating to either 4.2 or 4.3 (I can't remember which) and having those restrictions set to Off I no longer have the problem. Worked for me, at least with Angry Birds which is the only game I have.

I agree completely. This "game center" thing could be a "game changer" for me.

That is, I am NOT going to sign in to game center, period. I don't transmit information about what I am doing on my ipad to apple or any other party without a purpose. I do not wish to and I will not do so.

These warnings are getting annoying enough to sour me on wanting to use the ipad. My toddler especially, who used to be entertained by playing ipad games, now can't figure out what to do with all these warnings. He used to be able to play games by himself, selecting them, launching them, exiting, etc., now he gets stuck by all these game center notifications and doesnt know the right buttons to press.

I don't want to be a "switcher" but frankly, this game center nonsense is really harming the value of the ipad to me.

the existence of the app itself doesn't annoy me as much as when i am on the subway, airplane or elsewhere where there is no connectivity.. when i want to play a game, i first have to click thru annoying "Game Center authentication error' pop ups.. THAT's what annoys me

Careful. Deleting the Game Center app will cause corruption when attempting to do certain things like accessing specific settings and games. I've already tried it.

And then you'll be crying at Apple that your device doesn't work, when there are real people, with real, legitimate issues, having to wait for you, because you decided to try to be smart...

Game Center is an incredibly intrusive piece of crap that has slowed down all of my games that happen to be part of the whole game center database. Many of you say to just put it in a "useless" folder or the last page, but it will still be there slowing everything down. My iPad worked great until this update and now I find it annoying. Apple should have made Game Center an option instead if forcing it on everyone. =\

    Agree 100%.

After most recent update, I was able to shove Game Center to the "waiting to be synced/page 12" on my iTouch, but cannot get that to work on my iPhone. Hate having GC, never used it, never will. Resorted to sticking it in the utility folder, where I don't have to look at it and fume. Stinks that I don't have access to all the apps I actually want and paid for.

The whole point here is really simple..... It is not about "wanting" to complain, it is not about whether or not I "like" an app. IT IS about the ability to pick and chose what apps I have on MY IPHONE. I bought it I OWN it and if I don't want an app on there I should be able to delete it. Personally I would like to delete the gamecenter app, stock quote app, calculator app ( I found a better one) and weather app. To me they are all useless and consuming both screen real estate and memory for storage. Apple should at least give us a switch in setting to turn off and remove these (big brother forced on me) apps. I like the phone and no the android does not have the same functionality on it that I have on the Iphone. If I had wanted an android I'd have bought one.

Things are not as simple as you think.  Gamecenter isn't an "app", it's part of the iOS.  It's an intrinsic part of the SDK and simply deleting it would crash many games that expect it to be there.  Making an option to eliminate it would require updating all the games that access it.

FYI, although you may own the phone,  you don't own the iOS - you license its use.   It's not yours to do whatever occurs to you.

Ucan infact hide the app. By going to restrictions in settings, then turning game centre off, it will hide

Except for the fact that there is NO restriction for Game Center itself - only for multiplayer games and adding friends - and restricting those does NOT hide Game Center, your advice is dead on...

I suggest  you actually try you own advice before posting misinformation.

"Ucan" - The Oxford Dictionary of English missed that word - you should submit it to them.

What's sad is that you think posting  completely fabricated crap that misleads others is OK.  Maybe you even finding it amusing, along with your fellow preadolescents.

If you had the remotest clue how this forum works you would know how the hosts work - they don't post, and no one would confuse anyone who does with one, or providing their function.  The hosts don't edit or delete posts that are flat out wrong or lies, only those that violate the Terms of Use. It's up to other members to dispute misinformation.

Only a genuine moron (and genuine morons are rare) thinks correcting typos is a sign of intelligence.  It's a pathetic tactic to escape attention to the fact that you have nothing useful to say.

My referal to hosts, is not aimed at the real hosts of this site, I use the term "wanna be hosts"

My correction to your typo was to make a point. as you seemed to do so nastily with "Tamsmac" just a few posts above, If thats not you being a complete Moron "your words" then I dont know what is.

Just read your post to Tamsmac a few posts up and then read your post to me, Who is the Moron?

Yes I did, but you obviously didn't read (or can't comprehend) mine.  The "fabricated crap" - a form of trolling - I referred to was from tamsmac, which is why I responded to him in the way I did.

Maybe if you had minimal comprehension of both my post to tamsmac and the one to you, you would have a clue as to why it was "nasty."  I have no tolerance for people who post "complete" (your word) bovine excrement as advice for others.  And, my "words" were genuine moron, but attention to detail isn't your thing.

Just read your post to Tamsmac a few posts up and then read your post to me, Who is the Moron?

How about you re-read the sequence, or better yet, get an adult to read and explain it to you.
