Hi,

I recently sync my iPhone and once it had finished uploading all the updaded apps I got a message stating that iTunes could not save the backup file.

The inital phone info page shows that I have no apps, photos or music installed. This is partly true. all apps, photos are fine, I have lost all my music & playlists!

I now cannot upload any music, a reboot of the iPhone does nothing!

Any suggestions to what I should do?

Thanks

Robin

    Welcome to the discussions,
Is your computer still authorized in the Store menus in iTunes?
Is "manage music and videos manually" activated in the summary pane?

    Thanks for a quick reply..

I believe that my computer was still authorized.

    and

"manage music and videos manually" is activated in the summary pane.

currently downloading iOS4.1 don't want to upgrade if that going to cause more problems, do you think that upgrading to iTunes 10 might help?

I did not have any difficulties, but I'm running iTunes 10 on my Mac and iOS4.1 on my iPhone4.
Did you try to use the music pane to sync the music, to see if syncing music is possible at all?

Have just reviewed my settings and discovered that the "manage music and videos manually" had become un ticked - could this of caused my loss of music?

    Am now re-uploading my music.

Yes, each time you switch manually manage on/off, the content will be erased you'll have to choose the music you want on your device again.
