New icons on the bottom of my GMail e-mail: question

I use native GMail client on my iPhone 4. I noticed this morning, after upgrading to 4.1 version of software that my Delete (trash can) icon is gone. It's not replaced with something that looks like a box with some swirly on it. Does anyone know if that is a Delete or Archive function?

It appears to be an archive icon... when at my GMail inbox and I hit Edit the same icon appears in a red "Archive" box at the lower left-hand portion of the screen.

Settings>Mail Contacts Calendars>Gmail>Archive Messages...turn this to off & your trash can will reappear.

Thanks for the tip. Wish there was an option to enable both the Archive and Delete buttons.
