REMOVE ICONS FROM DESKTOP!!!!

*I have a pages icon on both the dock and also on the desktop i can click onto either and pages opens but i want to remove the pages icon from the desktop only and have only on the dock.........*

*Also have the systems folder from finder > devices > mac HD on my desktop and wish to remove this also....*

*This all happened when lost my applications folder which i worked out due to these here discussions!!*

To remove the HD icon go to finder > preferences > general and uncheck Hard disks.

If pages is in your applications directory then the one on the desktop is just an alias and can be dragged to the trash. Don't empty the trash until you've tested Pages.

Thanks...All worked out but the pages icon when i put in trash then go to open pages icon on the dock it says it now can't open because in trash......
