Apple TV Now showing movies and Tv Shows

I'm in Brisbane, having the same problem. Logged a support docket, hopefully they'll be able advise. Maybe they are updating things and its something to do with tv show rentals

Same with me .... Is it anything to do with upgraded (10.0) iTunes?

Same problem (Melbourne). I just spent 30 mins waiting for apple tech and when I got them they said they weren't taking calls in relation to this issue.

Impressive.

Seriously thinking about throwing apple tv in the bin.

That sounds like to me that they are busy changing stuff at their end, and not telling anybody about it.

Yup I have the problem too in Australia: late last week I tried to download Madmen season 3 to get my fix, but Apple TV just stuck on 'connecting to store' forever. In the end I downloaded it onto my mac (iTunes 10) but it won't transfer the series to the apple TV (says files are the wrong format, which isn't true as Madmen 2 worked fine with the same format files). Just got home and found the movie downloads section on apple TV has vanished - the apple TV also self-downloaded and upgraded an hour ago.

Either apple have made a big mess up or they are using us a ginea pigs for some kind of upgrade that isn't complete.

Meanwhile, I am forced to watch Mad men on my little iPad 😟

Have been able to rent a movie by tracking through the top movies placards at top right -- but that's not a solution.

Hey, Apple, would you mind telling us what's going on?

BTW am in Sydney not Japan

Similar here in Germany, but not the movie section is affected. Here it's the music menu that only allows access to locally stored music. Access to the itunes store impossible.

if you change your location to america the menu items reappear but you cannot hire because of the zone difference.

its got something to do with the Aus store.

I have the same problem on a new Apple TV I activated in iTunes 10 on Friday 10th... It also will not allow me to purchase anything like a music video saying verification is required in my account. All payment details are correct with security code.

However, I also own 2 OTHER Apple TV's in the house which are over a year old and they have NO issues. All menu's present and can purchase through iTunes. I suspect something is changing on their backend for newly activated Apple TV's when you get prompted for the code to add it to iTunes... Strange.

Topic header says this is answered. Can't see any answers though, only people with issues, like me! Where are the answers?
