ESPN3 on AppleTV

Any indication of whether AppleTV will stream content from ESPN3 and other web sources?

That's not true at all. AppleTV is designed to stream video from the iTunes Store (which it must connect to over the internet) and Netflix.

Personally, I'm shocked that it didn't include ESPN3 support from launch, given the strong Disney-Apple ties and the fact that with live sports, the AppleTV could have replaced cable for a lot of people.

I'd love to see it added, but I'm guessing ESPN3's contract with Microsoft and XBox probably has an exclusivity clause for set top boxes. Too bad. Would have easily been worth $99 for that alone.

I have the new apple tv. I have been fairly happy with it, but I also do not see any reason why they would have left out ESPN3 streaming of any other free online streaming sources from major networks. NBC, CBS, ABC, ESPN, USA and other all provide free viewing of recent episodes of their shows. These are all free and legal sources that units like Boxee provide access to. Not sure why Apply would have left this type of content out. They could have really captured the market share with a more complete design allowing access to more web content. It seems that they where focused on trying to get people to pay $.99 for a TV episode that you could watch for free on the networks website. Not sure why anyone pays $.99 to do this.

For what it is worth, I just sent a request to ESPN Feedback through this website https://r.espn.go.com/members/contact/index and got this response:
