No Service, brand new iPhone 4

Hi,

I would like some advice what is wrong with my brand new iPhone 4?
Under settings/carrier the phone finds no networks?
The phone is activated i itunes with confirmation on the phone.

I tried to restore twice, airplane mode on/off uncountable number of times, restart 50+ times for four days nut still get the message "no service" and no carries found
The phone runs the latest iOS 4.1

Anyone who knows whats wrong or had the same problem?

Have you contacted the company you're paying for cell service?

Hi,

Yes I have and they said that that wanted to keep it and send it for service (and let me wait for 4 weeks without a phone), I have not been able to make a single call, just unboxed it and tried to find carrier connection, been waiting for 5 days. So I am totally convinced the phone needs to be replaced but I don't want to wait 4 weeks...

My service provider has sent me a new sim but that didn't solve the problem either.

Is it possible this is anything but hardware failure?!

Stop being so melodramatic. How old is the phone? In England, (not sure about down under), you have a period during which you can get a refund and the contract cancelled. SO if the option is available, just do that and either;
a) Get another i4.
b Choose another phone from a different manufacturer.
c) Come on here and whine and not solve your problem.

If you read the first post instead of being rude your question is answered, it is brand new I never made a single call. I don't know about availability in the UK but in Sweden there is 4-11 weeks waiting list for new phones so that is not an option.

My sim is tested in another phone and works flawless…
The question was if it could be anything but hardware failure?
