Finder Help

I just transferred a windows folder called "My music" from an external hard drive to my new macbook pro. Within the "My music" folder, I had 3 sub folders. Each sub folder was a different genre of music (a few hundred songs in each). Once the transfer was complete, "my music" folder on the mac is now filled w hundreds of individual artist folders with 1 or 2 songs within them. How can I keep it the way it was? I just want 1 folder w 3 sub folders and each sub folder filed with songs?!?!

Please help a new mac user.

MacBook Pro 13.3, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

That's how iTunes does it. There might be a work around, but you need to post your question to the Mac iTunes forum here:
