can't import songs to itunes

Question

can't import songs to itunes

i'm having trouble importing tunes from my desktop into itunes. i try to drag and drop but the songs don't import. i also tried itunes/file/add to library... this did not work either. plus just now i converted a song from vinyl using cd spin doctor and this didn't import, although i have added songs to my itunes library using this software before.

anybody have any ideas please?

i just remembered that in addition to this, i also downloaded a song from soundcloud.com where some artists offer free downloads of their music.

i clicked download and it saved in my downloads. i can open it by highlighting the song then hitting the space bar, but when i double click on the song it doesn't open in itunes.

I am having the same issue. A friend sent me a demo of her songs and when i try to play the .mp3 file it won't play in iTunes. I have done this in the past and it has never been an issue. Tried with a few other files and it won't work either. But it will play in quicktime.

when i posted this question originally i never got a response.

i then posted it again under the title "sorry to ask again" and got replies. u should hopefully be able to solve it if u look at what the guys told me to.

this was one of their suggestions below,this was what worked for me

another thing one of them suggested was download some software called mp3 validator, although that didn't me, it may help u.
