IPod Touch Software version 4.1 (8B117)

Just downloaded this version via Itunes yesterday. Problem is that when the device is connected to my audio receiver and I hit play, the song will play for less than a minute or so then I won't be able to get the song play anything else without turning off the receiver and starting over again. Not only that, but when the TV is turned on for the display of the contents of the Touch, when the song kicks out and you turn everything off, the display won't come back. You have to fiddle around and power everything down, unplug, disconnect the Touch etc etc. before it will start over again then quit again, seconds into the song. I listened to music through the ITouch on its own and there is no problem with stoppage there - so far it's just when playing through my receiver. There were never any problems before so I'm blaming the software update. I also tried powering the Touch down and re-trying but this didn't help. Anyone else have a similar glitch? By the way, I plugged an old IPOD Mini into my reciever, still has an older software version on it, and it plays just fine, everything (including TV display) is perfect. Is there a way of reverting to previous versions of I Touch software?

I just purchased an iPod Touch Two days ago with 4.1 and experience the same problem that you have addressed. When I plug my Touch into the USB Port in my Car Radio, the iPod Touch plays a song for 1 to 2 minutes and then quits. The Touch is still playing, but not outputting the audio. If I unplug from the radio and plug back in, the Touch reconnects and plays for another 1 to 2 minutes and quits again. If I use the headphone jack and plug into the radio, the Touch plays just fine.

Same (somewhat) problems for me too. I have a Samsung shelf stereo that has the "Made for ipod" symbol on the box. When I put the ipod in the cradle I have no audio through the receiver. As well, the monitor I have connected does not display the contents of it. It just displays "Connecting to IPOD", then goes blank and repeats. This is my first ipod, so I have no idea if one with an older version works or not. The owner's manual for my stereo does state however, that compatability does depend on the software version of the ipod...

shrug.

Im glad i saw this, I was just at a get together with some friends and pluged my ipod touch into my harmon kardon go+play and i thought it was broken because it would play for few minutes and quit. My friend plugged in his iphone with the same version and it also did the same thing. After unplugging and plugging it back a few times it was fine but when i tried to skip the song from the remote the apple screen came up and froze the ipod for a good 5 minutes. I thought there was something wrong with the go+play i almost threw it away.
