how do I get my imovie project back?

I spent a month and a half working on a movie of me and my friends vacation on imovie, I went to try and burn it onto a disk. I went to Finder and found the imovie project, then moved it to desktop. Now I cannot find the Movie in imovie and the file I put onto the desktop will not open.

Anybody know how I can get the Movie back?
