64 GB worth the extra $100

It seems most stores are running out of the 32Gb models, which is a no-brainer over the 8Gb.
What are your thoughts on the 64Gb. Worth the extra $100 or not really?

I'm not sure if I'm going to upgrade yet - still waiting to see some more feedback (my main concerns that I've read are it heating up and fitting tight on docks) but I have the 32g 3g model and I was going to get that one, but after thinking about it more, due to the video feature, I think I will just go with the 64. There have been times with my iPod that I started to get close to only 8 or so gigs of space left and wished I had the 64, so adding on the video camera feature, I think I really will regret it if I don't just get the 64.

I'm kind of a Podcast HOARDER, though! 😉

I have the 32G model and find it to be quite enough. Were I to upgrade to the latest iPod Touch I would go again for 32G. I have about 1,000 songs which I think is less than most people. However I have many movies converted from my DVD library that I can watch on the Touch; that is what takes up most of the room. If I were only to load 5-10 movies I'd have tons of room left. But I keep about 30-50 movies so I usually have about 3-5G free.

My current usage looks like this:
Songs 1,083
Videos 143 which is a mix of podcast videos and my movies.
Photos 171
Applications 80.
Capacity 29.3 GB
Available 4.8 GB.

As I said if I wanted to free up some room I'd just cut back on the number of full length movies. I haven't felt the need to do that yet.

If you have lots of music you want to carry around with you, then maybe a 64GB is useful to you. How much space does your current music collection take in iTunes now?

Or of you like to carry lots of pictures with you, or you like to carry lots of videos (either movies, TV shows, or video podcasts), then maybe 64GB would be useful.

If it is just apps, then they really do not take up a lot of space, so a 32GB is generally more than enough. I have 32GB with a generous subset of my music, a movie or two, a few video podcasts, several hundred pictures, and about 30 or 40 apps, and I still have about 10GB free.

Then again, I have a friend that keeps hoping for a 128GB iPod Touch so he can put his total music collection on it. He is going to have to wait a while longer for something that big (assuming the maximum size eventually gets larger 🙂 ).
