Ringtones

Just wondering where the ringtone icon has gone? I had it before itunes 10 came out, but now I'm not sure where it is? I already looked in iTunes Preferences to see if the box was unchecked automatically since I updated it! Thanks 🙂

I too am missing the 'Ringtone' column after my update to iTunes 10. I have no option to add the column to my music library. I've tried View Options and also the column chooser - *Ringtone is GONE* as a choice.=.

So, I can't make ringtones anymore, I get that, but now I cannot even purchase them or find out what songs I own can become ringtones?

Apple removed the ability to create ringtones in iTunes 10. You can still buy pre-cut ringtones on your iPhone directly from the store, or as the post suggests above, use Garage Band (on a Mac) to create ringtones for free out of any of the songs you have in your library.

As a side note, when custom ringtone creation was around, it always came at an additional cost (over and above the song price).

And as always, there are probably about a million apps available on the app store that can be used for creating ringtones. Just search around a bit.... Google is your FRIEND 🙂
