My Ipod's version is 3.1.3. When I turn on wifi and choose a network in list below. My wifi signal not appear, even the Ipod connected to Network (but can't access Internet). Then I look for the network's information, but it blank, everything is blank (Ip address, Subnet mask, router...). And the safary browser cant access Internet, it notices: "The error was: Operation could not be completed. Invalid argument.". I reset the ipod, but it still be.
So someone could help me find out what's wrong. I just bought it for 5 months. Thanks

If the info is blank you're not getting an ip from your router.

1) Power router off and on again.
2) Next, go to "Settings - WiFi" and tap the blue arrow on the right of your WiFi name and choose forget this network.
3) Then go to "Settings - General - Reset" and do a "Reset Network".
4)Then reconnect your iPod to the WiFi.

Most times this will solve the problem. If not, you may have to update the firmware on it and go through steps 1-4 again.

Hope this does it. Let us know!

Okay, I have a few more questions and things to try....

You said you bought it 5 months ago - did it connect to the Internet previously? On this same network or a different one?

Try this:

1) Unplug your wifi router and then plugging it back in. Be sure you have the latest firmware installed. Do you have security set up on it that would prevent your ipod from connecting such as a WEP/WPA key or MAC filtering? If so, temporarily disable wireless encryption or security on the Wi-Fi router to rule out encryption issues.

Also, do you know what generation your ipod is? Be aware that all iPod touch models support 802.11b/g Wi-Fi networks. But only iPod touch 4th generation support 802.11n Wi-Fi networks (2.4 GHz only). So if you recently changed routers, that may be the problem.

2)Next hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.

3)Try connecting to another network, like at a Starbucks or McDonalds to see if it's an isolated problem.

-At first, I thank you for your support. I appreciate highly your interest.
It connected other network previously ad access internet normally. The kind of those network is private (with WEP key and this not my home), public (no key) such as library. It surfed Web smoothly. But 1 month ago, I brought network to my home, and then the ipod started no access Internet until now, even when I tried connecting to networks which my ipod used before, but it's still not.
My ipod got the problem from the fisrt day it failed to connect to my home network. I set up the password for my network, but my laptops connect well. My network is 802.11b/g.
My version is 3.1.3. How I know which firmware it is?
And what difference between turn off the router and unplug the router?
I'm trying your method, hope it work, reply to ya soon. Thank you so much much much! ^^

Assuming that you've done the Reset of network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and Restart of ipod (Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.) I can't think of a reason it wouldn't connect to networks it had previously connected to and also show you no network info. The fact that you can't connect to networks you used to be able to, and that you are not getting any kind of information in the Network information screen makes me wonder if this is a hardware issue that just showed up when you tried to connect at home.

If you unplugged your wifi router for 30 sec and then plugged it back in, you should have eliminated any problems that may have come from it - especially if your laptops connect fine.

You could try a restore since unless someone else has any ideas, I think that's the next logical step. Be sure you have backed up any thing on your ipod by selecting your ipod in iTunes, right clicking and selecting Back up. That way when you restore you will be able to restore your data.

This will not back up your music and photos though so be sure those are in your iTunes library and any Apps or items purchased from the iTunes store using your ipod have been transferred to iTunes as well by selecting your device in iTunes, right clicking and selecting Transfer Purchases.

Maybe someone else has an idea I don't. Otherwise that's what I'd try next. If that doesn't work you should probably visit an Apple store or contact support.
