Can't Drag and Drop in iTunes.

Hey,

I can't drag and drop songs to Playlists, my iPod or anything on iTunes. It's been going on for quite a few versions, and with every new release I hope it will get fixed, but it hasn't. In fact, it's got worse. Usually, I have to reboot iTunes a couple of times and I'll usually get a couple of drag/drops in before it stops working again. It's not ideal, but at least it was an intermittent problem. Since iTunes 10, it's permanently broken. No drag/drops. Ever. It's turned my iPod (which is only 2GB, and nowhere near the memory capacity needed for my 60GB+ library of music; auto-sync is not an option) into a chore to use, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for a workaround, or even a complete fix.

Thanks very much!

iTunes now lets me drag and drop one song (before again not allowing me to drag and drop at all) after a random number of attemps to do so with various different songs, where as before I couldn't drag and drop at all.

Uh, this discussion is about adding songs to playlists by draaging them from Music to a playlist.

I suddenly am having the same problem after upgrading to iTunes 5. I'm using a Wacom tablet. Their website is not working to download new drivers, so I'm stuck. But,

I have discovered a FUN WORKAROUND!

Just drag the Wacom mouse really fast over a song or selected group of songs and click in the middle of your stroke. iTunes lets you drag the songs then!

I too have this problem and have done for some time, although I haven't really seen it as a problem or not realy noticed it until wanting to sort a playlist today.

The problem is drag& drop one or more tracks from playlist to playlist - it wont.

And also can't drag tracking in a playlist to reorder.

Basically, it won't drag&drop - the highlighted track doesn't even show as being 'picked up', so not even

I've tried all the various suggestions for this seen on many sites...

  • ensure shuffle is off
  • sort by first (number) column
  • select all and create a new playlist
  • duplicate playlist
  • turn of various options etc. or change them
  • remove remotes (I don't remember assigning one)
  • Repair Disk Permissions ( also checked what is was correcting and iTunes didn't figure)

Nothing has worked, about to try a restart after another repair!

I don’t understand why they can not post some kind of responseto these drop and drag problems.

I thought I had the problem solved as I do use a Wacomtablet. Not so according to Wacom. This is the response I got asking where I could find updated driver for a Mac?

We do not support Mac at this time.

One thing I did find out, by using a regular mouse and notthe Wacom Tablet I was able to drop and drag songs to a playlist.
