Hey,

I can't drag and drop songs to Playlists, my iPod or anything on iTunes. It's been going on for quite a few versions, and with every new release I hope it will get fixed, but it hasn't. In fact, it's got worse. Usually, I have to reboot iTunes a couple of times and I'll usually get a couple of drag/drops in before it stops working again. It's not ideal, but at least it was an intermittent problem. Since iTunes 10, it's permanently broken. No drag/drops. Ever. It's turned my iPod (which is only 2GB, and nowhere near the memory capacity needed for my 60GB+ library of music; auto-sync is not an option) into a chore to use, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for a workaround, or even a complete fix.

    So I'm going to bump this. I'm not sure if it's allowed, but it disrupts my use of two apple products, running on a third. >_>

    This just happened to me, after updating to iTunes 10.0. I haven't found a fix, other than to right-click on the selected songs and use the "Add to Playlist" contextual menu.

    I am having a similar problem. For some time I have had sudden loss of drag and drop so that I cannot even move a song around in a playlist, much less to another list. The only thing that stops the is a full system reboot. I have been waiting for a fix however version 10 is much worse. I am having this fail almost every day. I am running an internet radio show from my computer and use iTunes to set up playlists. When I have this problem happen, I have to kick my listeners off and reboot. This is NOT an acceptable situation. I am running iTunes 10.01 on a 2.8 GHz Core i7 iMac with 8 GB of onboard memory. This problem has been happening since at least version 9, however.
    Somebody at Apple please fix this! Or tell me a workaround that does not involve me closing all other programs There is no excuse for this problem continuing.

    It is worse even than I said before. At least for this episode, copy and paste are also broken. I can copy to the clipboard, however only get an error beep when I try to paste. This is not limited to iTunes, but is happening in Mail too. Perhaps this is more of an OSX problem and not so much an iTunes problem...

    Why not?
    I find it very simple to creae aplaylist I want ont eh iPod an async only that playlist.
    Then add/delete from that playlist to change what's on the iPod.

    I hate itunes 10.....I copied my itunes from my PC and put into my new imac. I had 930 songs and now it is only showing 428 with none of my playlists. Can anyone help me?

    Happening to me as well... I updated to newest iTunes to see if that fixed the problem, and at first I thought it had, but then the drag and drop stopped after working fine for a few minutes. I'm now having to right click and add to playlist that way.

    I did recently add iLife and Office 2011. Not sure if this could be the cause.

    Drag/drop started failing for me as well. Upgraded to 10.2 today, but issue still exists. Bumping this thread to see if anyone's come up with a workaround...

    I just updated to iTunes 10.2.1 and can no longer drag and drop anywhere in iTunes. Any help?

    I've downloaded the new iTunes last night on to my laptop and I can't click and drag nothing into my iPhone. I hope this gets fixed soon. If so how would I know when the issue is solved? Will their be an update?
