Express Lane

I was just wondering how to add products to my Express Lane list of Apple hardware. I tried adding my iPhone 4, which I bought myself on launch day, and use my only Apple ID with, and it tells me it's registered to someone else. Any thoughts?

As far as I know Express Lane is a feature for the iPhone

not only for the iPhone:

In an attempt to put more troubleshooting know-how in the hands of its customers, Apple has created Express Lane, a simple to use resource for locating issues and solutions to common problems with *all of Apple's products*.

Ditto here on the "Apple employee" message.

In addition, it only lists 3 of my many Apple products: my iPhone 3GS registered last year, my iPad registered in April, and my AirPort Extreme Base Station registered years ago! None of my iMacs, my PowerBook, my 2 original iPhones, my Newton MP 2100 (registered 2 years ago), or my iPods are listed.

Aha! That is why some of my products were missing. They were registered using my iTunes Apple ID before I decided to use it JUST for iTunes and use a different one for here and my other Apple products.

However, NEITHER of them have my Newton MP2100 which was registered only 2 years ago. Nor do they have my AirPort Express, which was registered after my AirPort Extreme Base Station, which IS listed.

Are you saying that the Express Lane is only for products that are not currently covered under AppleCare?

I've noticed that on one Express Lane page it shows seven of my products, but on another Express Lane page it shows eight, with the mystery item being my iPad 64GB Wifi + 3G. Why would it only show up on some of the pages?

I noticed that some people were reporting missing products. I had the same issue and relayed my experience. I am satisfied with the logic of it; others may feel differently and it may not be the way things are "supposed" to be.

Certainly, I would not contact Express Lane if I had an Applecare issue but maybe they would refer me there. I suppose time will tell.

I called AppleCare and they confirmed that they were all registered in my name and email address, but that they didn't know if it was possible to tie it to an Apple ID. That's the whole point of Express Lane, to have all your products in a single page tied to a single account.

It's missing my MacBook, iPhone 4, and iPad (all purchased new). It technically has my original iPad, but I had it swapped out at the Genius Bar and cannot add the new one manually because "it is registered under another Apple ID." Which Apple ID could that be?
