Can't turn on macbook pro - Urgent!!

hello friends, i can't turn on my macbook pro at the moment and have begin to feel panic as I have a deadline to submit and all the data are within my system (it's public holiday today so couldn't get any apple support). basically my macbook pro will not turn on and would only turn on as long as I hold on the power button, after which will just shut down again.

When I press the power button, nothing happens except a temporary beam of the white led light. Then if I press the power button and hold it, the led lights turn on like usual (but nothing shows up on the screen) with the usual hard drive starting sound that you can hear at the beginning of bootup, but after a few second it would turn off again.

Please advise as I am getting kind of desperate at the moment, thank you!

sorry, I just called the apple centre, and they said it's possibly due to hardware failure.

Anyway, I was rushing from works yesterday and therefore, asked another person to off my laptop since the laptop refuse to be shut down promptly but according to my colleague, she shut it down with the proper procedure. However, yesterday when i tried to shut down the laptop, there's a software that refuse to be shut down, it's vectorwork (a cad program).
