thats the worst answer ever. your email doesnt work? just spend more money!!! thats always the answer...
-_-
check your server settings
That might be the worst response ever, posting an answer to a post made 3 1/2 years ago. And to a troll post at that!
this is a forum. obviously posts can be made to this discussion because people still have this issue. Ok, dont check your server settings, because thats not a crucial part of sending and receiving emails. I guess it doesnt matter if your have the correct SMTP and IMAP or POP(3) account settings. I hope to god this isnt your day job.
You have contributed NOTHING. The first page of the thread has the answer that you provided, but in much greater, more useful detail, in a place where people can actually find it.
Throw a random subject in the air like that really matters. But if in fact that was posted 3 1/2 years ago that means we were on what iOS 4 maybe 5?.. Now we are on iOS 7.1!!! Dont you think the features might've changed? moved around a bit?
I havent given much detail but arguably, you admitted I was in fact, right. I just didnt describe how to resolve it. Atleast you know to check your server settings though. what do I look like? your email provider? apple care? google? look up server settings for whatever email provider you have on their website and guarenteed you will find it.
This also worked for me, just adding the outgoing server info on ipad (it says optional but it is obviously required -5seconds adding it and it was fixed . Thanks
thank you! it worked
Anyone experienced this problem on an iPhone 5s with a MS Exchange account?
How do you fix it for Exchange?
This worked for me. After being lost for a few months, finally got the solution.
Hi, I am having the same issues however I do not use an AOL account. I use icloud email jojoselby@me.com and everytime I try to send an email it displays the message server does not allow relaying. I can send from this account but not receive. HELP please I am at my witts end with this now.
I have solved my issue re relaying. I noticed the issue only happens when I'm using the wireless network at work. When I turn off wifi and just use my phone network I can send emails again.
When I just put in user name it didn't work. I had to use the entire email address.
Thanks my iphone 4 is cured for the time being now.
thank you so much you rock. I've been dealing with this for years and it's finally fixed.
I'm in the UK and switching off the "Primary Server" and activating the other 2 did the trick! Many thanks for your tip.
