Logic with MPC 2000 and MPK 25
I recently purchased an Akai MPC 2000 and an Akai MPK 25. I have no problem using the MPK 25 as a midi device with my Logic Pro 8. However, I am trying to figure out how to use my MPC 2000 with logic. I've been looking, but haven't found any helpful discussions or videos describing how to set up the MPC 2000 with logic.
So here's the question: How do I run my MPC 2000 through my MPK 25, so that it plays the sounds loaded on the MPC in logic. Is that possible? In other words, I want logic to play the MPC sounds, and would prefer not to buy an mbox or anything. I have a midi cable that i'm running from the midi out on the MPC, to the midi in on the MPK, and have the mpk plugged into my computer via usb. Can I run it like that, or do I have to connect them separately? If I do have to do that, how do I setup up my mpc2000 with logic? Would I need an mbox?
Any tips, suggestions, or answers would be greatly appreciated! Sorry, i'm such a rookie, but I need to know how to do the physical setup, as well as the setup inside logic. THANK YOU!
