Custom Dictionary.

Custom Dictionary.

Does any know if you can edit the custom dictionary on the iphone4? I remember seeing the option come up when I was doing something (probably adding the emoji keyboard) but can't find it again?

I know iPhone is supposed to 'learn' as you go along but my phone is defaulting the word no to be 'no' which is rather annoying!

PS Have searched this forum but couldn't find anything.

You cannot edit the dictionary but you can reset it:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary.

You can also retrain the dictionary by typing the word/name into the Notes app/Safari and dismissing the autocorrection.

Thanks, wouldn't resetting it remove all the 'retraining' that has taken place?

Did what you suggested but think my phone has already retrained it's self as I couldn't get it to do the 'no' thing again!

Here's hoping the retraining continues!

Yes, it will delete all custom entries/training.

snkhan, you just saved my life! My iPhone 3G, and now my iPhone 4 had randomly started trying to auto-correct the word "in" with "in^". I have no idea how it happened, but it was driving me mental!! Resetting the dictionary fixed it!!

This literally just saved my sanity. I typed "A's" one time and every time I typed "as" after that, it switched. It drove me crazy. Now it's fixed! I looked all over the web and never saw this advice before. I would have never checked under "reset" either because I was afraid it would just factory reset my entire iPhone! Thanks!
