3G: v4.1 is still not a fix ?

Hi guys,

I have just come back after a week and checked the forums. I can see that 4.1 is still not a fix for the 3G. Even those who have some success with it report only 85-90% recover back to the speed we had with 3.1.3.

Unfortunately not enough people who have gone to 4.1 have come back and reported their experience now that a week has passed .. has it slowed way down as 4.0.1 did ?

I downgraded back to 3.1.3 a couple of months ago after my 3G slowed to a crawl despite every possible fix being tried.

*From the evidence here 3.1.3 is the limit for the 3G phone.*

too slow for me, I don't know if it is the amount of apps installed or not. But my iphone is extemely slow and appears to almost freeze at times. then kicks in and goes to the wrong screen. I was using the 3g with very little apps (2-4), before the upgrade and it was working great on 4.0.1 for me. However after upgrading and syncing to pc to Itunes 10 and 4.1(iphone) NOW it is horrible. Both phone and pc. there is another post about itunes10 and office 2010, which still as not been answered as well. I hope this helps and hope someone can fix these issues quickly.

4.1 is not perfect, but miles ahead of 4.0, 4.01, 4.02.

I've had mine upgraded for a week and I haven't noticed any slow down. However I have noticed a couple of other issues.

1. A couple of times my battery meter froze and didn't accurately report the battery level until I rebooted.
2. Last night I kept getting "This accessory is not optimized for your iPhone" kind of warnings. I'm not what accessory it was referring to.

However given the new features in 4.1, I will stay with it unless the problems I mentioned above get worse.

I am still experiencing sluggish responses on my phone. For example when I open my ipod I get a blank screen that lasts approx 10 seconds. When I open text, I get a blank screen once again for approx 5 seconds. The update did improve my phone as I was counting up to 20 seconds for the ipod prior to the update. I am looking forward to next years iphone 5 release. My 3g is just so frustrating anymore, sometimes I hate using it.

Greetings,

I don't see any difference in speed on the 3G, with 4.1 vs. 3.1.3. My old phone is a 3G with 4.1, and it's a little slower than my new iPhone 4, with 4.1, but my coworkers 3G is still 3.1.3, and my 3G with 4.1, are dead nuts the same - I can't see any difference.

Now, neither of us do games, or play movies/videos, or play music - ours are strictly for professional business use. The email, the camera, and AirShare, and Quickoffice all work about the same, as does surfing, of which I do very little - the bloody screen is too small. I have an iPad, and a Macbook Pro for that.

I don't see enough difference to get excited about.

Cheers,
M.
