Disc At Once (DAO) burning - any options?

I am an audio engineer that works mostly with classical music, and the inability to create CD's that can seamlessly go from one track to another is a MAJOR problem. Classical music often goes from one movement to another and small breaks in the audio are unacceptable. Neither is keeping the two movements as one track (as apple makes you do for your iPod...grrr...) - how would you like to fast-forward through a 25 minute song to get to the one you really want to hear?
I actually keep around an old Windows 98 machine (gasp!) for the sole purpose of making DAO burns. It adds time and hassle to my workflow so I would love to retire that thing.
My understanding is that the drives apple keeps putting in their machines cannot do DAO burning (why?), so I think I'll have to buy an external drive - and I assume software other than iTunes to author the disc. Does anyone have suggestions? (Or better yet, some insight into using my mac that I have not discovered?)

The drives installed in Macs are indeed compatible with DAO recording - it's the core burning software in OS X which doesn't offer that feature.
There are loads of programs out there which can provide you with DAO for your Mac, Toast from Roxio being just one.
I've never used any 3rd party software for this purpose, so I'm afraid this is pretty much where my knowledge on the matter stops.

Thanks everybody - I've got it figured out now with Jam. 🙂
When I first went to Mac in '03 I was frustrated by iTunes not doing DAO, and stuck with my PC as a workaround. Work kept me busy so it was easier to live with it than deal with it.
But with some recent PC frustrations (Thanks Mr. Gates!) I recently decided to look for a solution again. Unfortuantley, the people I asked about it pointed me in the wrong direction...thus my frustration...thank goodness for the forum!
Thanks!

BTW for Wheat: I use ProTools for all my audio work... 🙂
