ios Safari contenteditable

What's the status of getting contenteditable attribute working on Safari for ios? Will it be in ios 4.2?

(I posted this question here because I couldn't find a better place for it in the forums. Perhaps the developer forum would be a good place for it, but that's only open to people who pay the $100 developer fee, and I'm just a web developer who wants to enable rich text editors on web pages for the iPad.)

I don't think anyone here can tell you anything more about 4.2 that what you find on Apple's web site or places like MacRumors.

For Safari development issues another place you can check is

http://webkit.org/

webkit.org isn't really helpful, because standard webkit supports contenteditable (as in Safari for desktop, Chrome, etc.) Only Safari mobile doesn't, and I don't know why. Only somebody at Apple would know the answers to my questions, but I guess whoever supports this forum doesn't have a way to contact the Safari mobile development folks, huh?

the only place anyones allowed to even discuss 4.2 is in the dev forums. Even though its released to developers, its coverd under non-disclosure agreements.

I might suggest finding web development support sites. Your not going to find many web developers hanging out on these boards I would think.
