Transfer purchases from iPod

I don't get It. Say I buy some iTune music on the Mac at work and I put it on my iPod. Then I go home and I want to tranfer it to my other Macs and iPods, usually, I'd plug the iPd with the files I bought to one of my macs at home and choose "transfer purchases" (roughly translated from German) and it should download the album I bought at work on my other machines. Or not? Note that, of course ALL machines are registered to the very same account.
Fact is that none files are tranferred from the iPod to my machines at home. What's wrong? Did anything change with the policy about tranferring purchased files between machines that share the same iTunes account?

That's right. The trouble is that my purchased items don't get tranferred from the iPod to the computer allthough they all share the same account.

The steps outlined in the support document is what I usually do to syncronize my iPods and my computers. I couldn't find anything within the document that differed from my usual way to proceed and it had worked until lately.
