Waiting... icon

I downloaded a CBS news app (successfully), but another blank, white icon also popped up with a label that just says "Waiting...". It's been there for a day. I tried to delete it, but no "X" comes up on it. I tried syncing with my computer, but it's not listed in the app list, although it shows up in the display on my PC. I tried right-clicking on it and nothing happens. How do I get rid of this pesky, useless icon?? Thanks!

IPad, 32GB, 3G, Other OS, I don't know what OS I have...

Reboot the iPad!

To do this:-

1. Hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds!
2. A red slider will appear.
3. Slide the red button from left to right.

After you have slid the button over, the iPad will begin the shut down process.

Leave it for a few seconds and then hold the power button for another 3 seconds.
The iPad will come back up.

Normality should be restored:-)
