Waiting... icon

I downloaded a CBS news app (successfully), but another blank, white icon also popped up with a label that just says "Waiting...". It's been there for a day. I tried to delete it, but no "X" comes up on it. I tried syncing with my computer, but it's not listed in the app list, although it shows up in the display on my PC. I tried right-clicking on it and nothing happens. How do I get rid of this pesky, useless icon?? Thanks!
