Q: Why do some assets ask me to 'Save Changes' even though nothing has changed

Problem: Assets that have been uploaded recently ask me to save changes, every-time I close 'get info' window, but nothing has been changed.

This problem didn't always happen with assets early on. But it's seem to happen now after I've added new groups and fields to the metadata set. Not sure if that's related.

This may be an indication that there is metadata associated with the asset but which no longer has its field displayed.

Say you create a field, add it to a group, and set a value to it in an asset. If you later remove that field from the group it will no longer be displayed when you view the asset, but the value is still set in the database.

After reading the 'Administration Guide', I quickly discovered that I had been improperly setting the CATEGORY for each new FIELD I created. I assumed that when I created a 'Shoot Date' field, I chose 'Date' as the category. Apparently, this is incorrect. All custom field metadata that you create must have a category set to 'None'. Every other category is for FCSr's internal purposes. Surprising, but it was in the documentation. Changing the category on this new field back to 'none' solved my issue.
