Hardware Diagnostics

How do I boot of the Applications DVD so I can run the hardware diagnostics?

I entered a firmware password for my MacBook Pro. Now it seems like I can longer boot of any DVD?

Pressing the D-key during startup does not work, neither with or without the DVD inserted. The MacBook Pro always boots thru to the login screen. Tried many times.

Other ideas?

Press the D key immediately after pressing the power button. Hold it down until you see the spinning gear come up.

Yes this is what I tried (many times). I think this worked before I entered a firmware password.

Password protected means you can't boot off a CD/DVD.

Your OEM DVD is where AHT is located.

As to how to remove password protection, I'll leave to others.
