"Outgoing mail server (smtp): xxxxxx(offline)" Why is my server offline?
Hello,
I have been trying to fix my email. I have been having problems, specifically having to enter my keyword password repeatedly. Anyway, I am not sure what I have done, but now I can't SEND any emails. I can receive e-mails fine, but I can't SEND. When I look under the preferences for the account, I notice this:
Outgoing mail server (smtp): nymeyer(offline)
I am assuming that this is why I can't send mail, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get this server back "online"? We use qwest for our internet, and the outgoing server is smtp.live.com but all of the settings look correct. Like I said, I have been tinkering with my e-mail, and I am sure that I have checked a box, or unchecked something, or changed an account name, etc, -- but I can't figure out how to fix it.
I'm not that great with computers, so if anyone knows how to fix this, I would really appreciate a ridiculously explicit and simple description of what I can do. I am thinking about deleting my e-mail account and then trying to re-install it, but honestly, I'm not even sure how to do that, so I'm afraid that I would end up not even being able to receive my mail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
