Sustain pedal

I have a sustain pedal for my MIDI controller that has worked with logic in the past. It still functions with the keyboard itself (when sound is coming from keyboard, not from logic), but the sustain pedal doesnt do anything for software synths in logic. What can I do to fix this?

Running logic 8, btw

That is odd, it should say 1 64 127. If I remember correctly, sustain is off at a value (third number) of 64 or lower, and on at 65 or higher. But they usually send 64 127 when pressed, and 64 0 when released. So as it behaves now on your system, nothing happens, both the "0" value and the "64" value will keep sustain at "off".
Do you have a transformer active in your Environment setup?

Hi,

is your Sustain Pedal an on/off Switch or do you have a "half sustain" pedal, maybe with a "stereo" plug to plug it into your controller keyboard?
Also, did you make any changes to your controller keyboard or it's setup?
You could, however, set up a transform window in the environment that looks for your sustain pedal (controller 64) and sets all values above 0 to a fixed 127.

Since I have no idea what either of those things are, I dont think so.

Anything I write in Bold is a term you can use in a search in the manual.
To access the Environment, hit cmd-8. Now choose from the New menu a Transformer, and cable and set that as shown in this pic:

(you can also (as Foxboy suggested) set Data Byte 2 to "equal to or bigger than" 1, symbol >=
this will fix any value above zero to 127)
