iTunes U Not Updating Collection

On Thursday we updated the Harvard iTunes U page with a collection called "Visionaries in Higher Education". Everything worked great. On Friday at around 1:00pm ET, the folks that put the podcast together asked that we change the name and artist and replace the current audio track with an updated one. I did this through the Public Site Manager and on the Collections page everything is up to date. When I hit "Preview" everything looks correct, however, on our public page, the collection is still identified with the old title/artist on the homepage under "What's New" and the other sections, it no longer shows up under "Teaching and Education" where it is categorized and the updated audio file is not live, so it cannot be downloaded because we deleted the old file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ben;
I've been dealing with the same issue since last Tuesday (Tennessee Dept. of Education). On Tuesday afternoon, I published a new collection (Effective Practice Series), and it eventually showed up the following morning.
On Thursday afternoon, I added an additional track to this collection. Like your experience, it displays correctly in "Preview", but has yet to show up in the iTunes desktop application (Oddly enough, the new track DOES show up in the "Quick View" mode, but won't play. But when you open the Collection, the new track does not appear).
The new track DOES appear on both my iPad and iPhone, and I can preview the new track on both devices.
I contacted Apple iTunes U support, and they suggested that post on the discussion site, so that Apple's engineers who monitor the site could track the issue. I did receive a reply from one of Apple's engineers, but the problem persists (see related thread: "Site Manager Update Issue").
Hopefully, there will be an answer soon. All the best...

Hey Ben and Syd,

I wanted to add my two cents in. We are having the same issue. We just moved to the public site manager, and some of our groups are adding content to their collections, but nothing is showing up on the public side.

We have waited for over 12 hours and still nothing for us.

Thanks for creating this post. I wanted apple to know there were more issues. Hopefully they look into it soon.

Thanks

Jake

Is anyone from Apple monitoring this iTunes U Forum? For those of us trying to understand what is happening we are seeing even stranger behavior - in iTunes 10 client when you roll over an iTunes U collections you see a single letter i in bottom right corner of an iTunes U Collection graphic - if you click the i you get a pop up window that shows 10-15 tracks from a collection. We are seeing UPDATED tracks in our collections in this preview/popup window but not in the main iTunesU collection window.

We also see updated tracks for an existing collection when using iPhone or iPad, but not on desktop/laptops running iTunes 10 client.

DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE?

If so can someone please explain - and more importantly how to fix it?

we assume it is an Apple problem related to new iTunes U Public Site Manager?

Or is only related to iTunes 10 client?

Help - Anybody.

Thanks

Greetings Paul;
Good question. What version of iTunes are your running on your desktop? All of the machines in my edit bay and office have been upgraded to the new Version 10.0 (67). It would be interesting to see if earlier versions of the iTunes U desktop application respond the same way.
I'm told by Apple that their engineers monitor these discussions, and will respond accordingly. I certainly hope so. Timely content is a major necessity with our site, as I'm sure it is with everyone who's posted here. Hopefully we'll get an answer soon. All the best...

Paul;
As soon as I posted the previous comment, I saw that you had posted an additional comment. I'm having the exact same issue with the Quick View Preview icon. The new content shows up in that pop-up window, but when I try to preview the track I get a "Quick View is currently unavailable for this item. Please try again later". I've been getting this message for three days. When I ope the collection, the track doesn't show up at all.

Duncan;
Thanks for the response! Attached is the URL for our updated Collection. When the link opens in Safari, the updated track is present (track 7, "Live Q&A..."). When you open the iTunes U link, the track is not available.

Jake;
Really sorry to hear that you're still having a problem! The track is now showing up "live" on the iTunes Desktop Application. The link is attached if you'd like to make sure it's showing up on your end. The Collection if "Effective Practice Series", and the new track is Track 7 "Live Q&A session..."

I am having a refresh problem with one of my Welcome Pages. I did some changes to it and when students and faculty try to connect They get a page with the Title image but no courses and no menus, link or any other content. Does this have to do with the refresh problem? Any help would be appreciated. I would hate to have to rebuild this whole entire page.
