I was looking at Google Crome and see it can translate pages written in other languages into english on the fly. I do not know of any pages in another language that I frequent, so I am wondering if safari can do the same? I have not downloaded Crome as its too new, and probably has a number of bugs. Plus Safari works great.

There is certainly no reason not to try it if it has features you want. I've not had any problems with Chrome and keep it, along with FireFox and Opera, on my machine as alternatives to Safari.
The extension Translate, available in the Extensions Gallery from SideTree.com, does exactly that for me (for when my wife wants to read a Danish article in English!).
It adds a button to Safari's toolbar, and works at amazing speed.
Thats not what I mean. Darn no scrapbook as of yet. Well hope in due time a Scrapbook like extension will come out for safari. I love the one in FF and just wish oh do I wish that such a feature was bundled in Safari.
