mp4 videos won’t sync with iPod

I have 88 videos in iTunes. They all play on my iMac, they are all .mp4. When I sync them with my iPod Classic, I’m informed that ten of them are in a format not supported by iTunes.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Just another bug in iTunes?

Thank you, Roger. The videos I’ve downloaded are labeled iPod compatible, but could be the creators don’t have this information. Using Get Info, my videos are: Kind MPEG-Movie; Dimensions 640 x 360; Codecs AAC, H.264, Hint; Channel count 2; Total bit rate 779.

I don’t understand these numbers, but they seem to coincide with what you told me. But where can you find the “160 kbps, 48 Khz?”

I really appreciate your help. I just got an email from the videos’ creator and they said to select it in iTunes, select Advanced Menu/Create iPhone/iPod version, and to “monitor the conversion in the left hand column above the playlists,” which was incorrect, the monitor is in the space at the top center. I’m doing one right now, a 42 minute video, and it is taking a long time. I hope it will still play as well in iTunes and Front Row, where I frequently watch them... But if it doesn’t, I have another copy.

Interesting that 72 videos out of 82 play, but I’ve noticed that they way they list in Front Row is very different now than a few months ago; they seem to be learning how to do it.
