storing MacBook Pro for 5-6 months...

I will be traveling in the near future for 5 to 6 months. Is it preferable to remove the laptop battery while it is in storage for that period of time ?

Thanks,
RL

Apple recommends that you store the machine in a cool location with a 50% charge on the battery, and if you're storing it for more than 5 months, to remove the battery from the machine. (Good trick if you've got one of the recent machines without a user-removeable battery!) They also say you should recharge to 50% about every 6 months. See:

Of course, it's a portable computer... why not take it with you? 🙂
