iPhone won't change to landscape

I can't get my display on my iPhone to Change to landscape, it was working when first started using it but now has stop, does anyone know how to fix it.

double click the home button, swipe to the left and it the grey button on the opposite side of the iPod icon.

If that doesn't work, Hold the home button and the lock button and restart the device.

If that doesn't work. Restore your iPhone in iTunes.

If that doesn't work, take the phone back to the apple store.

Do you have the Portrait Orientation Lock On?

If so, there should be a blue circular arrow at the top of your screen. See. p. 17... http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_iOS4_UserGuide.pdf

Did you inadvertently turn on the rotation lock. Look up next to the battery indicator and see if there's a circular arrow with a lock in it. If there is, you've got it locked. Double click the home button, scroll all the way to the left til you see the arrow and lock icon and click it.

1. unlock ipod

2. double click

3. move the display to the left and click unlock

That's how you fix it

I had the same problem but it would switch to landscape only after shaking my iPhone violently. I tried all the suggestions above and nothing worked so then I tried smacking my iPhone on my other hand a little bit hard and now it will switch back and forth normally. Somehow something inside must of gotten stuck and smacking it was able to get it unstuck.

I double click and there is no icon when I scroll. version 7.1.2
