Power mac G5 LED Lights Blinking code

Hi I have a issue when trying to boot up I don't get the chime instead I get two blink with the LED. I remove the memory and I get one blink with the LED light. What are the different code for this, for I believe my Mac is failing some boot test and is trying to tell me what the problem is. Bad memory or bad logic board, I think bad memory for this same unit I got to chime when I use memory I had bought from best buy and returned. Price was better online but know Im think it was a mistake. Pleas do tell what must be the next part to be fix. Oh and there now hard drive yet or os installed I just wonder if that can prevent the chime also.

G5, G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

*RAM and Processor Verification: Power-On Self Test*

Power-on Self-Test (POST) occurs before the chime is heard. If you hear the chime, POST has probably passed, though some failures may exist and be found using system profiler. If serious problems preventing startup occur, the Status LED right above the power button will flash with a five second interval between flash sequences. The interpretation of the flash count is as follows:

• 2 Flashes: No RAM is installed or detected.
• 3 Flashes: Incompatible RAM types are installed.
• 4 Flashes: No RAM banks passed memory testing.
• 5 Flashes: No good boot images are detected in the boot ROM (and/or there is a bad
sys config block).
• 6 Flashes: The processor is not usable.

So I was do some research and found out that the DDR G5 models didn't support ECC is that why my logic board is telling me there are not memory. The this me a need to get some Non ECC memory or can I bi-pass it some how.

It sounds like you are getting RAM that is not compatible. Macs can be fairly picky about what will work. You will get what you pay for so if you go the cheap route you may get something that doesn't work.

You can't bypass the memory issue; you need to have compatible RAM in the slots.

Ok I'm going to get some non-ecc memory has anyone use the pny optima I'm think of getting some at best buy and was wondering if that would be good for the PPC mac's.
