rsync backup to a linux server

I am looking at using my extra Linux server space to keep a running backup or mirror of my important data. I am just beginning to use the new MacBook I bought for iOS developement.

Does anyone know of a basic script using rsync to keep my data mirrored on my server automatically?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I run Time Machine on an Ubuntu box -- configured with info from this site:
